I miss those old days. I miss those days when some friends flocked together and invisible wires were drawn across the minds; when we had each other to speak to about our ” ideas”, when there was always someone who called me in the middle of the night and said, ”Hey! What was that thing you were talking about? I am really interested in it! Let’s do it!”, when a cup of tea was not the only thing we went to a tea-stall for, when egos collided and the sparks that flew gave birth to brighter ideas, when lines were drawn and for everyone and everyone was asked to follow that code of ethics, when nights were spent by scribbling on notepads that echoed the words of great minds in making, when we applauded a suggestion, respected an advice and buried the dark possibilities, when my brain bolted like a stallion and always dreamt of the impossible, when we bridged unimaginable chasms just to move a step ahead, when we huddled together and mourned over our first failure, when we munched cartons of biscuits over a hurdle that came by, when our eyes gleamed after seeing the first fragments of our dreams materializing.
I remember the last time I squealed in joy when I saw things pop out of the drawing board and stand in front of me, I remember the overwhelm of emotions breaking waves in my chest when someone congratulated me, I remember that night when someone told me,” That was something tough you did and it was beautiful.”, I remember myself standing on the stage and feeling the pride fill my heart and then buoy my shoulders up.
But I miss those friends. I miss those arms around me; those great souls who lent me their hands and let me lend mine. I miss those shoulders that rubbed against mine when we all stood together for that last photograph, I miss that night’s celebration where not booze but content drowned us, where everything was shared equally-success and failures, where the age old differences were thrown away and new relationships were built…Yes, I miss those days when I stood proud and said to myself, “Yes. Today I stand different. Today I am not just anyone but someone. Today the world knows me not by my name but by something that I will leave behind.”
God! Give me back that spirit. Relight that spark that once dazzled everyone. Take me back to that womb where ideas would give me the warmth to brew my blood and sweat, where my bones would form out of determinations. Remind them that a mind is only as beautiful as its ideas, the arms’ strength lies in what they build, and the days can be made memorable only when memories are made… Remind them that it is always the first try that counts, because the rest only follow it. Because tomorrow I when I look back I don’t want to see what I did not do, but what I did for myself.
"I hate to spend my life earning,
coz all that I earn is not worth my life,
all that's priceless to me is a name,
that will stay after my soul takes its wings..."

Sukhois over pune..
Guys, its been a month and half i shifted to pune.
My office is in Kharadi which is very close to the lohegaon airport.
The first day i was coming to my office with my friend driving and me as pillion , i saw a Su-30 MKI for the first time in my life.
We stopped and watched in awe as it practiced in the clear blue sky. It was a magnificent experience to say the least.
Some times it would just zooom past us in supersonic speeds as if teasing us and sometimes it would just stay still in the air like a Humming bird.(Just before landing)
The first day in my new company, i was late by 20 min!!
This happened for another 20-25 days and every few days i would stop by to see it practicing its maneuvers.
Then came the fateful day,April 30th on which an Indian Air Force Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter aircraft crashed near Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, killing one of the two pilots.
Since then, i have never seen them flying as they were grounded for inspection.(Thats wat the fellow at gate told me..)
I wait anxiously every day while traveling to office to check whether they are flying again..
Hope the inspection and various checks gets over soon and i can see them roaring in the sky once again..Amen

Orissa born to be the next CEO of Besrkshire Hathway??
Just went through a news article in which its speculated that Orissa born Investment guru Ajit jain may be the next CEO of Berkshire Hathaway.Warren buffet seems to be so much impressed by the Ajit that he once asked his employees to greet Ajit by bending!!! Some excerpts from the article:

In this pic he is seen with Buffet.
“Ajit (Jain) came to Berkshire in 1986. Very quickly, I realised that we had acquired an extraordinary talent. So I did the logical thing: I wrote (to) his parents in New Delhi and asked if they had another one like him at home. Of course, I knew the answer before writing. There isn’t anyone like Ajit," Warren Buffet, the third richest man according to Forbe's, said recently.
This is not the first time Buffett has been praising Ajit in his annual letters, prompting speculation that Ajit could be the one to succeed him..
Showering praise on Ajit, who handles National Indemnity, Buffett noted that his business is "never the same".
Ajit, 57 now and from Orissa state, has said is that he loves his job. Born in Orissa in 1951, Ajit is an IIT-ian from Kharagpur and graduated in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Ajit’s batch mates and others who knew him during the IIT days recollected that Ajit was not very serious in studies but showed more interest in economics and sociology.
From 1973 for three years, Ajit worked for IBM in India before leaving for the US to get his MBA degree from Harvard University and worked for McKinsey & Co for sometime before returning to India in early 1980s to get married

Orissa:Riding high on IT..
Was going through a article in BS about DLF opening a infopark in Bhubaneswar.LINK
Some highlights from the article:
1.DLF Limited which is developing an Infopark spread over an area of 54 acres in the city, expects to resume construction work by the end of this month.
2.Wipro’s proposed software development centre in the city is scheduled to be operational by the end of February this year.
3.The first tower unit of the TCS centre is ready and has a capacity to accommodate nearly 1,200 professionals but the software major has only 250 employees at present. TCS aims to cater to its balance manpower requirement through a mix of fresh recruitments and redeployment of its employees from other centres.
4.Genpact Limited, the BPO (business process outsourcing) arm of the US-based General Electric has put up the boundary wall for its Global Delivery Centre. Construction work for this centre is expected to begin by March this year.
5.MindTree will be investing Rs 200 crore for its development centre spread over 30 acres in the Infocity and it had a long-term manpower requirement of nearly 5,000 professionals.
6. ICICI bank to open its eastern regional hub with a pool of 15,000 employee.
My comments:
Its really nice to see these developments happening.Coming from a place which is the epicentre of IT in bhubaneswar(Infocity,Sailashree Vihar) , it cant get any better for me.I still remember the days when the vast patch of land was full of tall grasses and lush green fields.Of particular mention here will be the area where Wipro is being built. We used to have great cricket matches dere and its been nearly 2.5 years we were evicted from that place.Anyways my happy days were soon going to end as i joined Wipro after nearly 6 months of this incident.
Wipro's Upcoming Bhubaneswar campus layout.

Looks awesome..isnt it.Infy has already set the benchmark with its beautiful centre.
